Hello! Hope you had a Merry Christmas! I have a new layout to share:

The layout is based on a great sketch from Scrap Much?! 

I cut some snowflakes with my silhouette machine. I have included links to download the free cut files at the bottom of this post. I normally do stitching by hand, but decided to try using the machine this time. I added a row of decorative stitching below the title and along the sides of one of the flags. The photos are from last year, I have sooo many photos from this Christmas to scrap as well!

Summer Splash with Free Tropical Cut Files

This weekend I broke out the watercolors to create a unique background for this layout. This is Landon in his splash pool. Both boys had so much fun playing in the water this summer.

I created a cut file with hibiscus flowers, tropical leaves and swirly vines to give this backyard scene an exotic/summery feel. See the bottom of this post to download these files.

I added the year in a sparkly white frame. I also did a stitched border that matched the back cardstock.

I created this layout for a challenge on http://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/. This challenge was to create a project inspired by this painting by William Knox called Arabian Scene.

I also created the custom cut file with the September Silhouette Challenge on Scrapbook.com and Silhouettechallenges.com.

September Color Challenge

Welcome fellow scrappers! The layout I am sharing today was created for the ScrapMuch? September Color Challenge. The challenge requires you to use at least four on the colors from this color palette:

I created this 12 x 12 scrapbook layout based on these colors.

This photo was from over a year ago. It was such a sweet moment. Parker was reading Landon's book to him as they rode in the wagon together. I decided to use a grid of contrasting squares of patterned paper.

I cut the title and the squiggle with my silhouette cameo. Look below for a link for free download of the squiggle file I created.

I used a few large buttons and an owl sticker as accents on several squares. The owl is from Echo Park's, "Bundle of Joy" Boy collection.

A day at the Zoo

Here is a layout I created for the September Take Your Pick challenge. http://www.acherryontop.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=257225

The layout is based on one of the sketches for the challenge. I choose to use some older photos from the first outing we took after Landon was born. It was a fun day. We drove about an hour and a half to visit the zoo in Jackson. Here is the layout:

I choose to frame the title because there is a bit going on in this layout and I felt like it would help the title stand out a little better especially since the title is not very large. I also adding some extra interest by using two different font stickers for the title.

I have had these cure 3d animal stickers for awhile, but I thought this was a great layout to use them as accents. The brown border I cute with my silhouette cameo. I created several fun edges to use as cut files. I am including links to download the files, free for personal use.

I have a huge button collection. I love to use buttons as accents in my layouts. Another requirement for this challenge was to include journaling. I have been trying to include more journaling in my layouts anyway. I think that journaling adds a lot to a scrapbook, especially in helping to preserve the memories that we hold dear.

Blustery Day

Here's my latest layout. These photos were from a fun day we had at the park. It was so windy that day, so that was the inspiration for the title.

I added a few leaves and faux stitching around the title as a fun detail.

I cut the title and the scalloped edge with my silhouette machine. Here are a couple of edges I created:
